Explore a Library of Creative Nonfiction Writing
Welcome to Cindy’s Creative Learning Library. Given the title, I’m Cindy, and this blog is an ever-growing library of my creative nonfiction writing to encourage learning in unique ways.
I am a lifelong learner who wants to pass my passion for learning to you. While I was in school, I was an academically smart and driven student, so I didn’t struggle much despite being on the Autism spectrum. However, I know other students aren’t so lucky or as willing to learn, so I feel that I have to take advantage of my situation to help out. I want to use my meaningful writing not only to inspire a love of learning in students from preschool to 12th grade but to also let their parents, educators, and librarians partake in the fun.
While trying to get my writing career kicking into high gear once I graduated from college, I tried making books and doing the illustrations, but to no avail. It was not until two years later — when writing blog posts for another company — that I realized how I should present my writing to others: by making a blog of my own. An online platform is the easiest and most effective method nowadays to get students to learn, especially with the readily available technology. And with technology becoming more prevalent in future generations, online spaces like this blog are essential to foster engaging learning.
Here at Cindy’s Creative Learning Library, I will provide nothing but the best for you, my dear readers. I can take almost any topic — especially academic topics — you want to learn more about and make high-quality, creative, and factually accurate pieces of writing for you in the form of easily accessible blog posts. I take research for my writing very seriously, so I will use reputable sources such as academic journals, reliable websites, books, and, if possible, primary sources to make sure the facts are accurate. However, I also want my readers to have fun and be engaged, so I will turn the information on its head and use emotion and imagination to tell stories, provide deeper meaning, or give advice.
As for what I write about, I can do almost anything. I’m most familiar with language arts, sciences (particularly life sciences and astronomy), and history. I may have some difficulty with government, political science, sports, business, economics, engineering, and physics, though, so bear with me. In addition, I only know English at the moment, so other languages will be another barrier for me to overcome. Still, no matter the topic and my level of understanding, I will give it my all during the entire writing process.
Think of Cindy’s Creative Learning Library like Schoolhouse Rock, but released fifty years later and as a blog instead of a series of educational songs. I’ll talk about a variety of topics using a variety of methods, all available for you with only access to the internet needed.
This blog is perfect for students, parents, educators, and children’s librarians, though anyone with a love of learning and an internet connection is welcome. Happy creative learning, everyone!
